Day 2 Detox Protocol
I do have a rough night usually the first night of my detox. Even though I went to bed at 8 pm and got up at 4 am I only got 5 and a half hours of sleep due to restlessness. So I will detail my day for you and give some explanation as I go along.
As I said I got up at 4 am. Mixed 2 teaspoons of activated charcoal in a tall glass of water and started drinking it. Started my coffee enema prep. During the prep I did my stretching routine and got in a Wim Hof breathing session. Knocked out the enema.
Process of doing a coffee enema
I like to use Detox Organic Green Coffee. This coffee is the best seller in Germany for Gerson Therapy. I take 5 cups of distilled water and bring it to a boil. I put in 3 tablespoons of the coffee, one teaspoon of Himalayan salt, and 5 drops of food-grade tangerine essential oil. Distilled water has no minerals which is why I add the salt. The tangerine essential oil will help purge the bile duct a little more. I let the solution simmer for 5 minutes and then turn off the heat. After sitting for 15 minutes I put the whole thing in the freezer for 25 minutes to cool it down to around body temp. Once you get this down it goes by pretty quickly. When I first started out it definitely was an arduous process. If you are going to do this on a regular basis I recommend you get an enema kit with a stainless steel pot from someone like Aussie Health.
Next, I went on a 5-kilometer run/walk keeping my heart rate below 125. Came home and made my coffee with collagen. By 8 o’clock I was in the sauna for my 20-minute session. Once back at home got to work and sipped on bone broth and tea till the afternoon. I did do my probiotic around lunchtime. Here is the brand I use. It is designed for 5 straight days.
Ketone Glucose numbers detox
I tested my glucose and ketones at 430 pm-close to end of day 2. My glucose was 97 and my ketones were 2.6. Unless you live a ketogenic lifestyle do not expect to see your ketones that high at the end of day two.
The Glucose Ketone Index (GKI) gives you an overall view on your metabolic status and state of ketosis because it takes into account the variables( glucose and ketones) and thus normalizes them, resulting in a more accurate, stable picture of your status. Between 1 and 3 you are in a high level of therapeutic ketosis and this can be used to treat epilepsy, autoimmune issues, diabetes, etc.
Following checking my numbers I had another bone broth, followed at 530 pm with an avocado. Did an Epsom salt bath for 30 minutes. Made a cup of tea at 7 pm and hit the sack at 8 pm. My goal in order to finish this detox is to have my ketones above 3 and my glucose below 90. Very reasonable goals. Tomorrow I will go into some detail on drainage pathways explaining why the various things I am doing aid my body in disposing of toxins. You can read Day 1 detox post here.
