Morning Routines Daily Goals and Weight Loss Fort Collins CO 2017
I am a huge believer in routines. They let your brain work on automatic and still accomplish important tasks. Recently Tim Ferris released a new book called “Tools of Titans”. What I love about Tim Ferris is that he interviews the best of the best, from Tony Robbins to self made billionaires. He has, of course, a lot of these canned questions. The one I like the most is “what is your morning routine?”. It was very interesting to hear from successful people from all walks of life what their morning routines were like.
Daily Routine in the Morning
I am not going to dwell on Tim Ferris. Let us talk about my morning routine and how it can help you. Here is my routine in a nutshell
- Make your bed
- drink a cold glass of water
- go on a walk
- stretch
- meditate
After all this is done a coffee and onto your day. So why does this work ? Admiral McRaven in his graduation speech to the University of Texas Austin his first routine was ” make your bed”. So why is this important ? It is easy and you accomplish your first task of the day. This leads you to finishing other tasks upon tasks. If you have a really bad day and come home and see your bed made you think ” I did get something done today”. Now that may not be a conscious level thought, but the thought occurs.
Why does Cold Work
Why do I think cold is important? The video explains it in detail but you need to activate your brown fat. BAT stands for brown adipose tissue. As adults we do not have much of this. By exposing our bodies to varying temperatures we activate this and return to an more efficient fat burning mode. It is what is called a biohack. Your welcome.
Create you own Daily Routine
Folks, do not do exactly what I do. The point of this is to come up with your own routine to do daily that will advance you in your life. The trouble is most people have no routine. Get up, clean up, eat some junk , and rush out of the house. Is that really what life is all about ?
Meditation as Part of a Daily Routine
I get up a little bit earlier to perform my daily routine. It pays off. The meditation is sometimes hard to get in but I totally recommend you do it. I use MUSE , but anyway you can accomplish this is fine. It took me years of trial and error until I finally figured it out. I would not have accomplished this without MUSE. Currently, I do not need this tool at all. It has trained me so well I can go from 15 minutes to 30 minutes without batting an eye. Meditation has proven health benefits and I cannot recommend this enough. Anyways, watch the video and see my morning routine. Pick out one that suits you and stick to it. Five new things at one time might be a bit much for some people. So try adding one thing a week. Whatever you do, stick to it. Good habits stay after you have done them for 3 weeks. So make a commitment to do a routine for a couple of weeks and I promise your life will change.
